I was given the opportunity last night to do a mitzvah and to prepare a nourishing meal for new parents in the yoga community. Having just moved from Kauai, I have been pot-luck broken in and have a few “specialty” dishes, that I enjoy immensely preparing and sharing. I decided to prepare an all organic, vegan meal for the new parents: Zucchini kitchari using red lentils and coconut oil for the rue, a chocolate, avocado, tofu pie – grain sweetened chips, and coconut cream and Red raspberry Leaf and Peppermint iced tea for the mama – as red raspberry leafs are wonderful for the nursing baby and mother ( high in iron, calcium, magnesium, toning the reproductive organs) Read more here about red raspberry leaf benefits and peppermint, cures any indigestion or aggravation with digestion, and tastes good!
Here is the note from the Mama about her meal 🙂
Hello Dearest Ali!
Thank you so incredibly much again, for such a delicious healthy homemade meal. Your act is so very kind! I am not a vegan, but I am now VERY intrigued in learning more recipes. I make some pretty yummy veggie dishes, and meat dishes. But this was so different, creative and just really remarkable. I cannot believe what is in the Pie, and what isn’t…like Sugar.
If you find some time, can you please send me an email with the recipes for the Pie and the Kitchari ( I could eat that every day) YUMMO! Also, If you have a place on line you go for recipes like these or books, etc.
