Ho’oponopono

Ho'oponopono Everything

Ho’oponopono

Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Traditionally hoʻoponopono is practiced by healing priests or kahuna lapaʻau among family members of a physically ill person.

Exploring the concept that everyone is deeply connected — despite feelings of singularity and separation — four tenets are incorporated in Ho’oponopono, creating peace with oneself and others:

I am sorry, Please forgive me, I love you, and Thank you.

Ho’oponopono means to make right ~ to make it right with the ancestors, or with the people with whom you have relationships, including with yourself.  The original purpose of Ho’oponopono was to correct the ‘wrongs’ that had occurred consciously or unconsciously in someone’s life.

I have spent the last several years in a purification cycle ~ and what I have found is that practicing Ho’oponopono is a very powerful and fundamental way to clear karma ~ to shift the energy with love in our heart.

When you hold resentment against anyone, you are bound to that person by a cosmic link, a really tough mental chain.  You are tied by a cosmic tie to the thing that you hate.  The one person, perhaps in the whole world, whom you most dislike is the very one to whom you are attaching yourself, by a hook that is stronger than steel.  Emmett Fox

Forgive yourself. Let the past go. You did the best you could at the time with the understanding, awareness, and knowledge that you had. Now you are growing and changing, and you will live life differently. Louise Hay

The process for practice  I use is as follows :

  1. Bring to mind anyone with whom you do not feel total alignment or support, etc.
  2. In your mind’s eye, construct a small surrogate of the person
  3. Imagine an infinite source of love and golden healing light flowing from a source above the top of your head (from your Higher Self), and open up the top of your head, and let the source of love and healing light flow down inside your body, fill up the body, and overflow out your heart to the surrogate’s heart.
  4. Repeat the following forgiveness prayer continuing to visualize your hearts connected by the golden light from the Source.

Please (God/ Universe/Spirit), Help me Forgive (all people/specific person/gender) for all Things. Please (God/ Universe/Spirit) , Help ( all people/specific person/gender) Forgive me for All Things. Please (God/ Universe/Spirit), Help (all people/specific person/gender help ) Forgive themselves for All Things. Please (God/ Universe/Spirit), Help me Forgive Myself for All Things. Through all Time and Space, Dimensions and Realities. Totally and Completely. Now and Forever. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

5.  Do this with every person in your life with whom you are incomplete or not aligned. As many times until you experience a noticeable shift.

Lots of Love,

Ali

[…] Ho’oponopono means ‘to rectify an error.’ This is an ancient Hawaiian ritual of forgiveness which is based on the understanding that the problems in our lives are the results of errors based on past memories. When we acknowledge and take responsibility for our actions, and we repent for our errors, the light transforms our pain. […]
